On a sheet I read that this is a temple Heaven. Is also called the Altar of Heaven, or Tian Tian. It is a complex of Taoist sacred buildings. He was visited by the emperors at the annual ceremony in which people prayed for abundant harvests. This building is considered a Taoist temple.
Remarkably all komples was in 1998 inscribed on the UNESCO list;)
